The project

Well past its ‘use by date’, this old, stately villa had plenty of potential. The Licensed Renovations team began a massive million dollar makeover; added a second storey, removed the deck, stripped out the interior, extended the back of the property, added a kitchen, scullery, butler’s pantry and completely altered the layout of the entire home.

The challenge

The client had worked hard to design their dream home. No pressure! We tackled the existing self-contained flat first so the family could be accommodated there while we continued to build upstairs. We re-gibbed the whole house, put in an immaculate double galley kitchen with scullery and butler’s pantry, rebuilt the master bedroom, ensuite, put a professional style overlay on the floors and installed gas fireplaces. But it didn’t stop there. Next we built a new double garage, driveway and decks to enhance the exterior.

The end result

Project management-heavy, this major renovation had us on our toes. We went in early with a preliminary budget and plans so our input had a big impact on later work, and worked closely with architects and engineers. Now maximising beautiful sea views out to Rangitoto, this gorgeous villa makes the most of its fantastic location. The clients are extremely happy with their new home.
